DANVILLE — A 72-year-old man is facing felony vehicular manslaughter charges in connection with a fatal traffic collision earlier this year in Danville, authorities said.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 1:15 p.m. on March 1 at the intersection of Sycamore Valley Road and Camino Ramon, according to the Danville Police Department.
Officers arrived to find one of the vehicles, a truck, overturned. A passenger in the truck died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a minivan, suffered minor injuries.
The passenger was identified as Sandy Hall, 57, of San Leandro.
Last month, detectives presented the results of their investigation to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, which filed charges against the driver of the minivan, police said.
The driver, identified as Andrew Chao of Danville, was arrested Friday afternoon and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
